The history of the Pitiusas Islands is represented in the Archaeological Museum of Eivissa and Formentera. Its two buildings feature a complete display of the different periods which make up the past of these islands, from the prehistoric period up to the Christian conquest. One of the museum's sites is in Dalt Vila, the walled area which encloses the part of the town with the greatest number of monuments. It comprises various buildings, the most interesting ones of which are the entrance, an old chapel built by the fishermen's guild, and one of its main rooms, the one which was the Town Hall until 1838, and prior to that, the headquarters of the Universitat.

The hamlet of Balàfia in Ibiza is a small complex of houses with Moorish origin. It is a charming, quiet spot very close to Sant Llorenç village in the north of the island.

The Balearic Islands were conquered by the Moors in the year 902, and became part of the Ommiad emirate of al-Ándalus. Later they were assigned to the Denia faction and finally they became an independent state.

Sa Cova des Culleram in Sant Joan de Labritja is an ancient sacred sanctuary dedicated to the Carthaginian goddess Tanit.

Ibiza preserves a sanctuary in a cave built to worship Tanit, the Phoenician goddess of love and fertility: Sa Cova des Culleram, located in the Sant Vicent de Sa Cala area in the municipality of Sant Joan de Labritja in northeastern Ibiza. The inside of the cave is not open to the public and there is a lookout point two hundred metres above sea level that offers spectacular panoramic views of the island of Tagomago in the distance.

The walled city of Ibiza, traditionally call Dalt Vila, was fortified by Felipe II to protect it from attacks by the Ottoman Empire and pirate raids.

The walled enclosure of Dalt Vila has five entrance gates. The main one, located in front of the Marina quarter, is reached by going up a sloping road that passes by a drawbridge, called Portal de ses Taules, which is flanked by two Roman statues.

One of the most surprising environments in the Balearic Islands is found in the Pitiüsas Islands especially on Ibiza - Ses Salines. These salt pans and marshes which were designated a Natural Reserve in 1995. Endemic plant and animal communities co-exist here in a rich ecosystem where salt is a dominant feature. All this makes their landscapes and beaches unique and unrepeatable. Natural reserve Ses Salines of Ibiza
